New Year's Resolutions
Fasten your seat belts boys and girls it's New Year's Resolution time again. Me, I haven't made one - I'm still in that one day at a time mode. Megan and Jeff have both made great resolutions - Megan wants to get back to walking every day and Jeff wants to lose weight.
Megan didn't get to walk today because she helped me clean the garage. I got a wild hair to get rid of all the empty boxes - we have been saving every box since Jeff and I got together (and some from before). Megan must have broken down over a hundred boxes. We also went through the old clothes that had been stored in the old suitcases in the basement. A lot of the clothes went into the donation bag, but some of them fit Megan. She looked so cute in some of my old shorts. We literally spent hours cleaning the garage. I think she more than made up for not getting her walk in today.
Jeff's going to have to keep reminding me that cutting back on food is harder on him that quitting smoking. He quit smoking cold turkey right at the beginning of football season back in 1999 (I think) - that was no biggie. But when it comes to food if he doesn't eat he gets grouchy
(I know the feeling!) I've tried a couple other diets for him, but none of the really worked - he's keeps telling me it's just something "he" is going to have to do on his own.
Megan goes back to Tennessee next Sunday. I know she misses her "stuff". I'm going to miss her being here. I want to try and teach her how to do some of the web stuff I do. I guess I'm trying to help her figure out a career path. While finishing up the basement this evening, I realized I was doing work study (internships) at 14 and was working part-time while in school. I never had a car I - would walk to work from school and catch the bus home in the evening.
So Day One of the New Year's Resolutions has left me with two grouchy bears - they both hate it when I mention they are so alike in many ways. Hopefully we can make it through the week. I think we are going to try and go to a movie tomorrow.
