Sounds like I need to give Megan some tips on how to communicate with her father.

Attend a class on ESP - she'll need to sharpen her telepathic communication skills because her father expects you to read his mind.

After receiving "instructions", repeatedly ask "And then?" (ala the scene at the Chinese drive-in from the movie Dude, Where's My Car?

Find a Vulcan - ask him or her to do a mindmeld to extract all the information.
